Brazil star speaks out following World Cup elimination"

Real Betis star Antony has been left out of Brazil's final squad for the 2026 World Cup. Despite the disappointment, the Brazilian winger offered a remarkably mature response to the setback.

Taking to social media, Antony wrote: "Of course, it hurts to miss another World Cup. But I am at peace and proud of everything I have achieved so far."

He further added: "Now is the time to support my friends who will represent Brazil in the fight for the hexacampeonato (sixth World Cup title). I will be cheering for them from here."

Many believe that, based on recent form, his performance was superior to some of the forwards who actually made the squad.

Antony previously represented Brazil in the 2022 World Cup. However, since 2023, his presence in the national team has been limited.

He used to miss regular opportunities. Later, he left Manchester United for Spain to rebuild his career anew. Although he is currently excluded from Brazil's World Cup squad, the star remains optimistic about his future."
